Features

The printer prints up to 20 ppm (pages per minute) in black and 16 ppm in color. The printing speed is for borderless prints. The copier can take up to 17 cpm (copies per minute) in black and 12 cpm for color. The printer uses the Dell 924 ink cartridges and provides 6 color printing and also has an optional photo cartridge. The printer has wireless capability, which is one of its salient features.
The lack of a fax machine has reduced the price of the Dell 924, but the scanner can scan to any fax software and then you can send the fax using the fax modem in the computer.
Design
Generally, most All-in-Ones are not compact, but the 924 is different ?it抯 very compact and can fit in any place, a complete space saving design.
Performance
The 924 printer quality is on the middle and more to the high end when used with 6 colors.
The printing speed is good - in full color the Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 924 took about 1 minute and 14 seconds for 4by6 print, and 2 minutes and 42 seconds for a 8by10. The printer was faster for text and other black and white prints - an 8-by-10 page full of text took just about 10 seconds. If there were some additional graphics, like a graph with text it took about 40 seconds, which is in par with most laser printers.
Another important performance criterion is the longevity of the prints once they get on the paper. The Dell Photo All-In-One Printer 924 prints on the special photo paper will have a life span of 50 years.
